This week has been filled with anticipation. We found out what we are having this week, but my appointment wasn't until Friday at 3:00 p.m. It was not easy to wait that entire week because it seemed to be the slowest week yet. I tried my hardest to keep busy so I wouldn't think about it all week, but it's easier said than done when you are on bed rest and only work 4 hours a day! (Which is killing me because I am head over heels about my job and I want to be there all day, but I do know it's best). I did figure out a way to keep my mind a little busy. I was getting ready for our "Gender Reveal" photo that Heather Natalie Photography graciously said yes to doing for us. It was a last minute request because we didn't know hard in advanced that we would be finding out what the baby was that week. She ALWAYS works things out. She has done our family photos and gender reveal. Next we will be doing our maternity, newborn, and more family photos. Then once this little baby is one, he will be going to her for a "smash cake" photo shoot! She always has such fun ideas. We would never use another person! Plus, Alli adores her! If you live in Florida, or are coming down here for vacation and want great family photos or kid photos or baby or boudoir or engagement or anything, she's the person to do it! Her website is www.HeatherNataliePhotography.com . She is also on Facebook. Here is the link : https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002387579054. Go "Like" her!
So the day of the baby reveal came and my stomach was in knots all day! When I found out that I was pregnant I immediately thought "It's a boy", but with the track record of my husbands family a girl was more likely. We already have a beautiful little girl so I would have been happy with another princess. I was hoping that there would be some chance that it was a boy so I could have one of each and be done!
I got done work at noon and headed home to make sure Kiko and Alli were ready for our gender reveal photo shoot right after our appointment and we were also waiting for my Mother In Law to get home from work so she could come with us. Once Maria (my MIL) got to our house, we were off to the appointment. My Sister-In-Law, Vanessa, met us there. It was so nice to have family there with Kiko, Alli, and I. I tried to get our Skype to work so my mom could see but that was a no-go so I called her. I wanted my mom to be a part of it too! We started the ultrasound and little baby Vargas started yawning. It was already sick of us! Lisa, the ultrasound tech, got really great pictures of the profile and his little hand. Seeing your baby moving around is such an incredible experience and I got to share that with my family. It was a perfect moment. When it came time to see what Baby Vargas Dos was, it was sitting Indian style. Of course! Lisa moved it around a little so we could get a peek. I immediately saw what it was and yelled out "Omg, It's a BOY!". Then, I immediately look at Kiko. I have never seen him smile so big! Everyone in the room and on the phone were so exited. I will never forget that moment. Alli was yelling" I'm going to have a brother". (Which is great for her. No competition!).
I can't wait to have a little boy in our family. He will complete us entirely. And as Kiko said, "the balance of power is now even.
Now the name war really begins............
How far along? 16 weeks and 4 days.
Total weight gain/loss: I'm still at 3 lbs.
Maternity clothes? I still just have my black maternity pants. I am happy to report that Kiko took me shopping and I found things that really fit that aren't maternity! God love him!
Stretch marks? No!
Sleep: Sleep was out of the question this week. I was too excited to find out the sex of this little miracle!
Best moment this week: By far, the best moment was finding out that we are going to have a little precious boy added to our family. I am still over the moon about it. I hear the word "boy" and start smiling.
Have you told family and friends: Yes.
Miss Anything? I miss being able to take medicine when I'm sick! It would have been nice this week.
Movement: I feel flutters and sometimes I get a good jab.
Food cravings: Lemonade, fruit, and I always want water!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Broccoli still. We just aren't getting a long!
Have you started to show yet: Yes, but most of the clothes that I wear kind of hide the bump.
Gender: BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 Now we have a FSU Cheerleader and football player! (or a co-pilot for Kiko)
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Weekly Wisdom: Do something creative to tell your family what you are having! I wish I could have had a gender reveal party but our family to to hard spread out! But whatever it is, make it fun and memorable because it's something you can show your baby when he or she is older!
Looking forward to: The strawberry festival next weekend! It will be pregnant heaven for me!
